well!.!.!.she is my cousin!.!.!.after I heard that she had caught diabetes!.!.!.i was confused!. Yes she is 10 and weights more than i do!.!.!.also she is 4 inches shorter than me!.!.!.

My boyfriends little brother is twelve and has it as well!. There can be some serious side effects and it can lead to other problems as well as death!. But it's best not to think about that because that's possible with most diseases!. She just needs to take care of her insulin and she'll be fine!. My boyfriends brother has had it for a few years now and he's doing great!. He is one of the best 12 yr!. olds i know and he recently got a monitor that goes on his hip to help keep track of his insulin and insert it for him!. Haha I know a lot about this disease if you want more info!. then just let me know!. Just a quick FYI, you can't catch diabetes!. It is not a communicable disease!. You develop it over time or are born with it depending on what type you have!. It is controllable as long as you monitor your blood sugar levels, watch what you eat, and take your medication as prescribed by your Doctor!. She will have to watch her sugar intake for the rest of her life limiting any sweet foods and or drinks as well as alcohol!. Without proper care and treatment diabetes can cause circulation problems, kidney failure, eye problems, and severe infections from poor circulation among other problems!. If you keep your blood sugar under control you will have less of a chance of developing such problems!. Nothing really, you could end up in the hospital, if you she doesn't watch her sugar level!. Don't worry!. As long as she stays below how much sugar is allowed, she'll be fine!. But you need to find this out from her doctor, becaus it don't know ho bad it is!Www@Answer-Health@Com
