What's up with this?!
Question: I've been showing the symptoms of diabetes lately - constant thirst, frequent urination, tiredness, eyesight deterioating, etc. Today I had 2 slices of toast and a cup of tea for breakfast at 7am and for lunch I had a cheese sandwich, crisps, chocolate biscuit and orange juice at 12pm.
When I got home at 6.30pm I measure my blood glucose and it was 0.5mmol/l. Is that normal considering what I had to eat?

Sis :o) Have you been to see the doctor yet?
Do you have control solution to test your meter with? .5mmol is equal to 9 mg/dl ... which is impossible. A person cannot survive with blood sugar that low.

Your weight doesn't matter ... blood sugar levels do not vary according to weight.

Luwayla, I emailed you back
Wait, how old are you anyway?
I'm not sure, sister. Could be.
Those symptoms match Type 2 diabetes myelitis
you really need to check in with your doctor & get some accurate blood work done to dtermine whether you are or are not having diatbetic symptoms...
A blood sugar of 0.5mmol/L is not compatible with consciousness. Also, diabetes does not cause low blood sugars, only high. Hypoglycaemia seen in diabetics is as a result of medication.
