You seem very young. It is highly unlikely for any genetic disease like heart disease of your grandfather to show itself this early in life in a female.

Rapid heart rate is quite common when adrenaline is released upon fear, anger, or excitement. However, if it becomes painful, it may be another underlying problem.

It is possible that you have a mitral valve prolapse, like a lot of women have. An Echocardiogram will be able to diagnose this issue.
Talk to your doctor.

In the meanwhile, do your best to remain calm and take it easy.

Yes you should.. pls contact a doctor and see him/her.

You may be having panic attacks, but any unusual rhythms should be checked out by your doctor or a cardiologist. Heart disease does have a genetic component in some cases.

Sounds like it could run in the family. Better safe than sorry.
Have it checked out!!

Contact a cardiologist, or rather...have your primary dc refer you to a cardio. They can do EKG's and other tests to see if there are any conditions, congenital defects or what not. I wouldnt put it off, heart failure is SO sudden. Sadly, too sudden for most to get rescusitation going. YHWH Bless and Heal you!
