Some spots on my leg are numb, will this go away and what is it?!
Question: I've had 6 operations on my leg to lengthen it and ever since, there have been certain spots where its numb.
My kneecap is numb, the side of the knee is numb, the right side of my right foot is numb and my achilles tendon. I've had it for ages, and am entirely used to it but it won't go away! I have spoken to my doctor, and he says that it's unlikely to go away as some of the nerves have been cut off due to surgery. But will they grow back, and why is it taking SO damn long?? I hate the feeling of numbness, it freaks me out and it's really sensitive there. Like when i poke it with a pin, it hurts a bit, but it's very light. HELP ME!!!

Does not sound like there is any help exceept to encourage you to make the best of it and get on with life to it's fullest. I have not been able to feel my feet and the sides of my legs for several years due to nerve damage and surgeries. Mine is from crushed vertebrae in the sciatic region. Nerves will only regenerate if they are close enough to do so with a small amount of growth, but not if several millimeters apart. Have had all kinds of expert test done and all came to same conclusion - cannot do anything. I have had to be careful in some cases with exposure to heat and when there is a chance of being cut or scratched by bushes etc, and continued on.
