Bactrim is a widely used antibiotic. It is taken orally and can be used to treat a variety of maladies, including acne like in my case. Side effects are rare, but for me I had a bit of nausea and loss of appetite but by no means anything serious. Be sure to take all of the pills and not leave any behind to make sure the infection is gone even after the symptoms subside.

As for MRSA, you have already seen a doctor and they didn't think it was serious so do not freak out. MRSA is extremely rare and usually only occurs in hospital settings. Like if you were in the hospital for a week after surgery, MRSA is the kind of staph infection you would get there.

If symptoms do not improve, you may want to have your condition diagnosed... but I say, why go to a doctor if you don't trust and follow their advice?

Isn't that something you put on it like a cream? I don't think you actually take it. If it is what I think it is, you just put it on and it helps.

Did your Dr. check to make sure it isn't MRSA? MRSA is a type of staph infection that spreads quickly and can't be killed with Bactrim. People actually die from it - even young people. It starts out looking like a spider bite sometimes.

Please google "photos of MRSA" and look at quite a few to see the different ones. If yours looks like that, I think you should ask your Dr. about it - just to be on the safe side.

Bactrim is an antibiotic cream.

I have taken it. It is a in the family of Sulfa drugs, and used to treat bacterial infections. I had an allergic reaction to Bactrim, so I cannot use it or any of the Sulfas anymore. Hopefully, you will be fine on it.
