Number one - you don't WAIT to take your son to the doctor - you DEMAND they make you an appointment NOW. If they absolutely cannot make time for him - take him to the emergency room. Ear infections are not to be discarded as they can lead to serious complications. Yes, it can affect his eating, he has to move his jaw - which is right next to the ear canal, sleeping is a way to avoid the extreme discomfort he is probably feeling. You didn't indicate if he has a fever, if he does, that's another reason he is probably sleeping more - either way, since you already know he is having multiple problems, get him in to see medical personnel NOW. Don't take the chance of something more serious down the road. Good luck .

I wonder do you mean "does it make him eat less" and the answer is "yes" any one no matter the age eats less hen they are sick or in pain sleeping more is the body way to help its self heal. Hope he gets better by the way you can get homepathic eat drops at wal-mart or any drug store that will really help with the pain until the antibotics kick in.

Your babies immune system works better when he sleeps and does not eat, so this is quite natural if it is an infection. Also the act to swallowing may cause ear pain. My son had the signs of an ear infection...but never progressed...we attributed it to teething pain, where they will also tug on their ear, not eat, and act cranky. My son also droooled quite a bit when teeth were/are coming in.

you need to demand that they see your son today. since he's only 3 months and especially since he is not eating. You can't wait till the 8th.

If your regular Dr can't see him till the 8th that is terrible since he is so young and in pain I would take him to the ER now and switch doctors later every time my kids are sick their doc sees them the same day even if I have to wait a while longer. Seriously find a doctor that offers same day sick visits.
