One kidney???!

Question: My friend has one working kidney(that has had surgery in the past). She also has one kidney that has failed. She has no health insurance so no Dr. will do anything for her. Will she be ok with only one kidney that has been a problem in the past?

No one can predict the future. If the kidney is damaged it is damaged, but one working damaged kidney is way better than no kidney at all. I'm sorry that your friend is one of the millions in this country that if you have no insurance then you have no health care. Unfortunately, there is little change coming in that area. There are places that can help- we have an awsome free clinic that helps with liver disease, hiv and other serious diseases as well as acute problems. Good luck to your friend, they are lucky to have a friend that cares so much!

well its always good to have another kidney as a backup. your friend should get insurance and maybe a kidney transplant
