Could these be symptoms of leukemia?!

Question: I'm probably blowing this out of proportion but im just a little bit worried:
lately i have become really tired. I used to have a really good stamina but not anymore....
I'm getting infection after infection (colds and chills)
I get these pains in my legs, wrists and shoulder
and basically just feeling run down and tired.
Although I know that bruising is a symptom, and I dont have any bruising, except yesterday I hit my wrist off the table, wasnt really sore, and then this purple bruise appeared. It was gone in an hour though. Could it be leukemia?
I'm 14, Thanks!

Honey, you are only 14, and probably don't have leukemia, but you might have mono. Your symptoms could be those of mono, also. Whatever is up with you, since you are not feeling well and are not yourself, tell your mom and go to the doctor. Get a blood test so you can see what is going on, and put your mind at rest.

Here are the symptoms of leukemia:
Symptoms

Symptoms of leukemia depend on how much the cancer has grown and may include:

* Fevers and night sweats.
* Frequent or unusual infections.
* Weakness and fatigue.
* Headaches.
* Bruising of the skin and bleeding from the gums or rectum.
* Bone pain.
* Joint pain.
* Swelling in the belly or pain on the left side of the belly or in the left shoulder from a swollen spleen.
* Swollen lymph nodes in the armpit, neck, or groin.
* Decreased appetite and weight loss because you feel full and don't want to eat.

The chronic forms of leukemia often cause no symptoms until much later in the disease.

You have only the ones you have heard about most often on TV, it sounds like.

Here are some of the symptoms of mono:
unexplained constant fatigue or weakness.

Other symptoms of mono can include:

* headaches
* sore muscles
* larger-than-normal liver and spleen
* skin rash
* abdominal pain

So, you see the symptoms are similar, and there are thousands of other reasons for the problems you describe, none of which are serious or life-threatening. Please stop worrying. Just go to the doctor and soon you will feel much better.

Take it from someone who HAD luekemia-
[I am now a survivor! :] I am 13 now and had it when I was 7.

When I had symptoms I had real paleness in my face-
and I was real tired. A simple bloodtest could figure this out.

What your saying could also be the flu! So talk to your doctor hunny.

Leukemia is the most common childhood cancer, so anyone that tells you that you don't have it because of your age is just plain wrong. However, there are many other illnesses that can cause those symptoms. The best thing to do is to talk to your doctor about the symptoms you're feeling. Chances are, it's not leukemia, but it's better to be safe than sorry. I am also 14 and am seeing an oncologist on Tuesday for possible lymphoma. Just know that you're not alone. If you want to talk, just message me
