What are these red dots on my skin?!
Question: I have fair skin and I have had this problem for as long as I can remember. All of the hair follicles on my arms and legs are bright red. It looks like I have very tiny red poka dots all over. The worst part is that it turns my nice white skin a wierd reddish color. What causes this? Is there anything I can do to reduce the redness? Thanks.

Sounds like keratosis pilaris. Here is a link to a site that has a lot of helpful information - http://www.keratosis-pilaris.org/
On that site you can find information about a product called KP Duty. I use it on both of my daughters as they both have keratosis pilaris. It has really improved the looks of the little red bumps; now their skin is smooth and looks normal. Good luck!
Have you had a check-up with you doctor recently. It sounds like you may have a skin condition which is prevalent in several different conditions. Usually the "red dots" are fewer and not settled on the hair follicles. If you prick one with a pin, does it bleed to excess? Are they raised a bit? If yes, then you should see a doctor because it's possible that you may have an auto-immune disorder of some type. If not, it may be just a skin condition. I would suggest a Dermatologist if there is no bleeding to excess when pricking with a needle. Good luck.
