Rook piercing healing?!
Question: It's day 4 since I got my rook piercing, & it hurts a lot. It's not very red but Im not sure if it's swollen.
Earlier today it wasn't as painful as it is now. I slept on it the past days and it was comfy to sleep on. No pain or anything.
Now when i don't touch it, it hurts and when i touch it gently with no pressure there is this pain that shoots throughout the cartilage of my right ear. I know that this might be part o the healing process but i can't even clean it well so I might have a better chance at getting it infected.
any suggestions on how to heal the rook faster?

I got my rook pierced last year. I love it! I had a similar problem so here's what I did...
don't touch it. Simple as that.
AND when you clean it, don't touch it either. For the first full week, I did sea salt soaks twice a day and did NOT touch it at all. I also soaked it in soapy water and rinsed clean... but my fingers never touched the piercing. I didn't move or rotate it at all. By the second week, I was able to touch it with no pain.
Sea salt soaks are awesome... give it a shot and don't touch the piercing no matter what.
EDIT - if you don't touch it at all, it should be less tender within a week or two. Just keep doing the sea salt soaks and keep your hands and hair away from it. I tied my hair up every day for the first week or two. ALSO - did you get pierced with a barbell or a CBR (ring)? If you got a ring, ask your piercer to change it to a barbell for you. The pain will be cut in half.
