Can Chlamydia resurface after almost 2 years and can it be transmitted other tha!

Question: I was diagnosed with chlamydia about 2 years ago, got treated and have been constantly up-to-date with my physical check ups ever since. I have been in a relationship for a year and a half and have taken std tests during and they have come up negative. Recently I was tested and it came positive. I have only been with him and NEVER cheated. I know that the ONLY possible explaination would be him cheating on me, I asked and he said no (of course guys are always going to deny), but I want to know if it's possible that it might have resurfaced or if I could have gotten it from one of my roomates somehow (i.e. sharing drinks, touching something that they infected, etc.) Please help! Thanks!

Chlamydia is not air-borne. It is definitely transmitted sexually. However, by you sharing drinks, touching, may not be a definite contact for chlamydia. So, no I do not think your roommates transmitted it to you. I have a roommate that tested positive for Herpes, and before they knew they had it, we shared things, but when I went to get checked, everything came back negative. So, that goes to say that you would definitely have to be exposed(directly) for you to test positive for chlamydia. And if your partner is not cheating, talk him into getting checked, so that if he is infected you both can get treated, and rid the STD. Candis, MA

His cheating is the most logical explanation, sorry.

If you've had negative tests previously, it's most likely that you weren't harboring the infection. It's more likely that he got it from someone else and passed it on to you. You're not likely to get it without sexual contact.

Once you have been treated for Chlamydia with antibiotics, you are cleaned! And therefore you are not infected. Very highly unlikely that you got it from room mates... < 1%. Therefore, your suspicions are probably correct...go with your gut instincts...sorry! :O(
