Are Shingles contageous and is there anything you can do for someone with it, no!
Question: Shingles is just the chickenpox virus returning in adulthood. If you've never had chickenpox, or have been vaccinated, you won't get shingles.
When I had shingles several years ago, my doctor put me on a course of medication to treat it. At the time I also had regular acupuncture for migraine and my acupuncturist offered a treatment to help with the physical discomfort of the shingles. He stressed that I MUST continue with the medication from my physician, and that this was just to help the pain.
All I can say is that the acupuncture treatment "cured" the pain, and the medication "cured" the shingles.
I was lucky, though; some cases can last for months and months.
Last thought: Shingles are NOT genital herpes or any other form of STD. They ARE a herpes virus, but they're just CHICKENPOX with an attitude. Anyone telling you otherwise is either a liar or an idiot.

my mom just had that, it isn't contagious, but idk what you can do non-medically
yes,vry highly contageous,,easily spread throug skin to skin contact and sex,,,,,,,,,,,there is no non medical treatment..antibiotics r a way of treatment
YES YES YES, if they are genital shingles, they can be very contagious when someone is in a breakout. Genital shingles can be a form of the herpes virus.
My mom suffered with this for a long time and it's very painful. I don't think there's anything you're going to do at home to improve it, but there are medications available that will help.
