What are some good medicines for getting rid of chest congestion?!

Question: I have a cold/maybe even the flu or acute bronchitis. Not sure which of these I have exactly, but like the question asks, what are some good medicines for getting rid of chest congestion?

I feel like I have to cough up some mucus or something but when i cough it wont come up. So it's just a hard, dry cough.

So could you answer that first question and also this question: do u think I have the flu, cold, something allergy-related, or even bronchitis? I don't seem to have a fever.

Mucinex DM is good for helping you cough stuff up...there are a few alternatives, that you can get in pill form at your local drugstore or GNC...

Horehound(flowers and leaves) increases fluidity of the fluid in your lungs, and decreases the thickness of mucous.

Nettle(flowers, leaves and roots) helps you to cough stuff up...

Black Cohosh(rhizomes and roots)reduces mucous production

Boneset(flowerpetals and leaves)relieves congestion and loosens mucous...

you should go see a doctor.it might be something else.
