Influenza is rarely dangerous in healthy adults sixty years of age or younger, but it does make a person more susceptible to pneumonia, ear infection, and sinus troubles. If you are older than sixty or you have a weakened immune system or with chronic conditions such as heart or lung disease you should consult with a physician.

If you are otherwise healthy you should take Vitamins A,C, and E the minerals Zinc in lozenges form. Consume plenty of fluids, especially fresh fruits, herbal teas, soups and quality water, to prevent dehydration and help flush out the body.

Eat plenty of hot chicken or turkey soups. This is grandmother's old remedy and it is still good today. Add a bit of cayenne pepper to help prevent and break up congestions. Avoid dairy products and mucus forming foods, and sugar.

Fever is one of the body's major defense mechanisms against the flu. Flu viruses do not survive well in warmer environments. If you have a fever, do not try to suppress it, unless it is over 103 F.

one word.................................... ADVIL

if you've had your symptoms for less than 3 days, RUN to the nearest urgent care for antiviral meds. otherwise, treat your symptoms and rest.

Take tylenol.
Poor babe :[

take a tylenol and go to the docter. Its serious.

take some aleve, a hot shower and go to bed, it will pass-good luck

Rest, rest, rest, rest ,rest, and rest some more. Also, when I had the flu, (I know this sounds wierd) my doctor had me drink Gatorade and I felt much better. Take some Pepto Bismol (the tablet! not the liquid!) if you want.

Tylenol, lots of fluids, lots of rest. I like to drink Vitamin Water!

SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP.

but if you can't sleep, [which is how I was] you need to see the doctor for sure! even if you can sleep, still see the doctor so you can get better quicker.

and drink lots of water.
just relax.

Get better soon!!

definitely chicken soup. try making homemade and if you aren't able to, either have some in a can or have someone put together chicken soup with chicken broth, chicken pieces, carrots, and even some noodles! it works like a charm. feel better!

well take some medicine and when you take a shower, take a cold bath instead! It always works for me but stay in bed all day and try to sleep it off.

Follow these six steps at the first sign of the flu.
Call your doctor and ask for an antiviral medication such as amantadine, rimantadine, zanamivir, or oseltamivir. At the same time, start taking 1 tablespoon of the liquid elderberry extract Sambucol four times a day for three to five days. Also start taking the homeopathic remedy Anas Barbariae Hepatis et cordis extractum 200c, more commonly known as Oscillococcinum or Flu Remedy. Follow the dosage instructions on the package. To relieve headache and achiness, take 500 to 1,000 milligrams of enteric-coated aspirin, 200 milligrams of ibuprofen, or 500 to 1,000 milligrams of acetaminophen every four to six hours, or 275 milligrams of naproxen twice a day. Don't take acetaminophen if you have liver disease. Don't give aspirin, ibuprofen, or naproxen to children or adolescents (use acetaminophen instead). Now that you're medicated, work on bringing your fever down to make yourself more comfortable. Start with cool compresses on the pulse points at the neck, throat, and wrists. If your fever is still high and you're still achy, add a cup of Epsom or sea salt to a warm tub, soak for 20 minutes, then wrap up warmly and lie under blankets to induce a sweat. Adding 10 to 15 drops of eucalyptus or peppermint oil to the bath will help with congestion, cough, and muscle aches

drink lots of fluids to prevent dehydration
get plenty of sleep and take it easy
take acetaminophen or ibuprofen to relieve fever and aches

Nyquil can probably help you sleep better, if it gets really bed call your doctor, they can probably give you an antiviral drug.
