Staph infections?!

Question: Why are they so hard to get rid of!
I have had an ear infection since October, and I have received two different antibiotics!
And it is still rampant
What is going on with this teeny little irritant! Why won't it go away!!
Any help will be appreciated! My doc is good, but he is nonplused as well!

Staph stays in your body once you get it once. It's really hard to get rid off. Make sure you take all your antibiotics. Your chances of getting staph infections are a lot higher if you've had it once. Make sure you wash any cuts or scratches with soap and water, apply antibiotic ointment and cover the wound daily. Staph can spread so be vigilant in keeping the infection away from others. Wash the cloth you use to clean it before you reuse it or let anyone else use it. Wash your hands after cleaning and dressing wounds. Throw used dressings immediately in the trash.

Ask the Dr. to do a culture and sensitivity on the germ That will tell you which antibiotics it is most sensitive to. You might just not have been given the best drug to kill the germ.
