Crohns disease?!

My sister has it, and it's not pretty. But then again,
neither is Diabetes or any other illness. Crohns
Disease affects the gut and can range from mild
to advanced cases.
It is an inflammatory disease of the intestines, similar to
Ulcerative Colitis.
Diet plays a strong role in managing the disease.
Stress reduction helps too. One thing to remember is that
Crohns Disease is NOT contagious. Therefore, it is not
an infectious disease. I can't catch it from my sister or
anyone else who has it, and they can't give it to anyone.
It is not a contributory illness such as Mumps or
Chicken Pox.
Most people who have Crohns were born with it
and it emerged later in life. It tends to present in adults
but can often be seen in pediatric stages. My sister was
born with a birth defect of the secum, and this is believed
to be the source (but not the cause) of her CD. For more

It's a frequently misunderstood illness and knowing more
about it can help you help someone who has it.

My mom has it, and it was really horrible when she was in the process of being diagnosed. It seems like everything she ate just made her feel worst and worst, of course in my family we're bread heads, and my dad only ever bought wheat, so that didn't help. Now that she has been taking medication, things have become so much better for her and for us when we want to vacation and go out to eat now.
I'm a mailman, and I used to deliver to Dr Crohn. ....I still have no idea what the disease is.
my friend has it she has had many surgeries for adhesions in her bowels but is doing fine now she has to be careful not to eat really fatty food they seem to aggrevate her symptoms.
