Scarlet fever skin condition?!

Question: My sons skin is falling off!?! My son recently (about 2 weeks ago) had Scarlet Fever. He completed his antibiotics as directed. In the last four days though his skin seems to break off. Example: He put on his gloves to keep his hands warm...only had them on for maybe 30 minutes and when he pulled them off the skin on the tips off his fingers came off. His fingers were bleeding. Now he seems to be very sensitve to anything. His skin cuts open VERY easily. Could this be from the scarlet fever rash? I've made him a doctor appointment but it's not till Thursday.

Actually scarlet fever has something called desquamation - basically where the skin peels off the body -- you can look at pictures of it online.

It basically looks like his skin is just peeling off - like after a sunburn.
Steven's Johnson usually only occurs with the introduction of a new medication -- has he taken the antibiotic in the past?Symptoms; child is acting sick, has large blackened areas , blisters that spread with pressure, and looks like he has been burned - then take him in to the ER.

It is more likely to be related to the scarlet fever. However, I would leave a message for the doctor about it or talk to his nurse, they might be able to get you in sooner.

Sounds more like Stevens-Johnson Syndrome. He may have been allergic to the anti-biotics. Please look at this link, they have, albeit graphic, photos of people with this syndrome. I had it, after Scarlet Fever, as a reaction to penicilin, which I had taken several times before without incident. You should take him to the ER. Good luck.
