What is this and what can I do for it?!

Question: All right, so I've been noticing this for a long time, but I haven't really done anything about it, bc I thought it was another thing in my head. But, I figured now I'd say something about it.

Well, not very often (maybe 2 times a week?) I get these weird sensations in my legs and pretty much my thighs and calfs. It feels like tense and tight, and just like I need to move, but when I do, it still aches. I try to stretch, but it seems as if it makes it hurt more. Feels kinda like tingly and weird, a very odd feeling and I don't know quite how to explain it. I asked my mom about it and she said she gets it too, and that it's called restless legs. Is there any other thing that this could be? Is there anything that when this happens again that I could do about it when it comes again, bc it bothers me so much when it happens, I just really don't know what to do. I take ibuprofen and it seems to help. Is this condition common or rare?

Thanks for all who attempt to help!

It could be growing pains! My mom has restless leg. Putting heat on it helps. Get a few tube socks and fill them with plain white rice. Tie a knot in the top. Then, put them in the microwave for 3-5 minutes each. Lay them on your legs. The heat will calm them down. Good Luck!!

Some people with diabetes gets this too. If it is restless leg syndrome, I am pretty sure that you need to be on a drug called Gabapentin if it is bothering you.
