I have Vit B12 deficiency, high BP and underactive thyroid?!

Question: I was diagnosed 5 months ago. I have had a course of B12 injections but no treatment for thyroid as yet. I have to have it checked again next month to see if it is still underactive. The problem is, even after my B12 injections, I am still so tired all the time and I can't motivate myself to do anything. I have just got over a really bad cold which doesn't help. Could the thyroid problem be causing the tiredness and lethargy? Are there any supplements I can take to give me more energy?

Both B12 deficiency & hypothyroidism can cause fatigue. You've got a double hit. I can only imagine how you feel.

I was treated for B12 deficiency (secondary to another issue) & it took me over a month until I felt better. In the meantime, I had profound fatigue. I wasn't sleepy, I just had to lean on something or lie down. I also had other symptoms.
You might try researching both conditions. I put a link to a (B12 defic.) page I had found informative.
--I hope that you are getting rest & that your health issues will begin to resolve soon.

You could try kelp tablets which contain iodine and might pep up your thyroid function. Easily available at Holland & Barratt or similar (UK). But don't take them if you're already taking prescription medicines for underactive thyroid. Staff at H&B are usually knowledgable and will give you some assistance.
Hope you feel better soon.

Take all around Vit B formula which has all types in one pill. and because with the thyroid, you can loose hair and have 100's of more issues just over a simple imbalance. Supplements for energy, If ur in the US, go to a mothers market/trader joes kinda place and get this one pill/powder that has 30 different types of herbs in it for energy and better health. Also look into melatonin

The tiredness may well turn out to be a symptom of hypothyroidism. P.A. and hypothyroidism are linked, in that they are both auto-immune diseases.

Don't waste your time with so called supplements, they will have no effect at all.

tell u what i wld see a doctor i have the same deal n the bp meds dont mix with my thyriod meds and siezure meds so my blod sugar is around 280
