I do not know of any condition causing the body to burst, but there are a number of conditions which cause the body to dramatically swell up with fluid. Lymphoedema happens when the lymphatic system is unable to clear fluids and the excess fluid ends up underneath the skin, causing massive swelling. It tends to affect the arms and legs more often, but can also involve the abdomen. I've never known a patient to burst, but in severe cases serous fluid can leak through the skin and the skin is prone to damage and ulceration. The other condition causing massive fluid build-up is ascites, when the abdomen swells, due to a collection of fluid in the peritoneal cavity. It is usually due to severe liver disease or malignancy. The fluid sometimes needs to be drained or the patient can find great difficulty breathing. I hope that answers your question

Jordan itis.

The appendix will do this when it ruptures, but that is the only part as far as I know

Systemic edema.

windus maximus???

Being infected with EBOLA virus might be the closest.

It beaks down cell membranes & you 'leak' fluids...internally & externally.
