I believe I have caught chicken pox twice in my lifetime..?!

Question: Is it possible to have chicken pox more than once?

Answers: Is it possible to have chicken pox more than once?

It's not impossible, just outside the norm.
It is thought that either the first case didn't create enough strain on the immune system to render it effective against further attack, or that the immune system failed to 'remember' its method of defence against the disease. The second theory is from a recent medical journal article, so I don't know how accepted it is.

It is possible if the first case was mild.

Yes.

yes, even if you have had the vaccine.

Chickenpox is actually a species of herpes virus (varicella-zoster virus, distantly related to herpes simplex I virus). Once you catch chickenpox, you are thought to be infected with the virus for life. But your immune system generally has very good control over the virus, forcing it to hide in a few nerves around the lower spinal cord.

In most people, the chickenpox virus hides in those few nerves for their entire life, never causing any problems. But in some people (frequently during periods of high stress during middle age), the chickenpox virus evades the immune system and spreads through the body again. This frequently results in "zoster," a very painful chickenpox infection localized around the midsection of the body (near the nerves of the lower spinal cord where the virus was hiding for decades). The condition is commonly called shingles.

yes it is possible if the first outbreak was not bad. you can also get shingles years later

Yes
The virus can stay dorment in side you for years and then pop back out 30 or more years down the road. Then it is call Shingles. After an individual has chickenpox, this virus lives in the nerves and is never fully cleared from the body. Under certain circumstances, such as emotional stress, immune deficiency (from AIDS or chemotherapy) or with cancer, the virus re-activates causing shingles. In most cases, however, a cause for the reactivation of the virus is never found.

Shingles (herpes zoster) is an outbreak of rash or blisters on the skin that is caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox

first i hope you could change your foto second chicken box infect any one just one time with its known symptoms rash papule fever and so on BUT second infection is in form of zoster

Yes, my daughter had a fairly bad case at 6 then a mild case at 13. Doctor diagnosed it both times.
