Bronchitis vs. Pneumonia?!

Question: I saw my Dr last week for SEVERE dry coughing... he wanted to do a chest xray but I had my 6 yr old twins with me and they said they would have to wait in the public waiting room alone.

So, he said that either it was bronchitis or pneumonia but that he would treat them the same so he gave me an antibiotic. Also for an ear and throat infection... he said that if I didn't get better then to go back.

So my question... I am feeling MUCH better, my cough is much less and loose. I have more energy but I am winded after just a little bit. Also, I am done my meds and I sometimes feel as though I can't get in a full breath and am wheezing a bit.. I was not doing this when I saw my Dr. I am breathing ok and I know that I am getting enough air, it just seems to be a bit hard.

Is this just part of the course of bronchitis or should I see my Dr and get the xray? I am feeling so much better I just have different symptoms now...

Blessings...

Bronchitis can develop into pneumonia is not treated correctly.
If you went through a course of antibiotics and still feel symptomatic, then go back to your doctor.
Get the Xray, tell him you feel short of breath and are wheezing. You may need an inhaler to help control the wheezing for the time being.

I would call him and ask him if it's normal or if he wants you to come back in. No point in taking chances :)
