I'm 29 weeks pregnant and I have the flu, what are some good homemade remedi!

Question: poor you...i just got over it, and it was awful. i had gotten the vaccine, but i contracted a stomach bug, and then a day after i was over that, i got a sinus infection, and i am 21 weeks....

if you are having cold like symptoms, i used saline nose spray to clean out my sinuses and help me breathe. it wasn't homemade, but it IS safe, as it is non-medicated, just be careful and make sure it is plain saline spray. it works WONDERS!

vicks vapo-rub, also not homemade, but very soothing if you can get your partner or someone to rub it on your chest and back it also helps.

for the belly symptoms, I depended on the BRAT diet---Bananas, white rice, unsweetened applesauce, dry toast.

Bland and awful, it stops the diarrhea and soothes your belly. Drink small amounts very often, ginger tea helps the nausea greatly and helps slow the dehydration because you must be careful of dehydration when pregnant.

you can buy teabags, or you can get ginger root and boil it in water and let it steep. it is great and has proven itself time and time again.

if you can, get gatorade and freeze it in small cubes, then suck on them to help the dehydration and also slow the nausea.

If you stop urinating regularly or begin suffering from syncope (dizziness when you stand or even fainting), call your OB because you need to get an IV to keep baby safe.

The good news? Your body is building antibodies that your baby will be prepared with when he or she is born. Feel better soon and try to rest!
