I'll make a long answer short and in plain english...diabetics have to do constant checks of their 'blood sugar levels', anywhere from 3 to 8 times a day. A 'normal' sugar level would be anywhere from 80 to 120-it depends on the person, what they've been eating, etc. Below 60 or so you get spacy, start to talk or act funny (in some people) and below 40 is danger zone...you can pass out, lose consciousness or have no idea where you are or what you are doing. This is called a 'low' and can happen because the diabetic hasn't eaten anything in a while, or by mistake took too much insulin. A person going 'low' while driving can zone out completely-not have any idea what he is doing or where he is going.
