What excercise should i do to get really fit??
I have a permanently injured knee, it makes it hard to run or jog, so any alternatives would be great e.g masses of situps.

Sit ups will tone your abs but they wont make you fit. I was going to suggest running, but if you have a permanently injured knee the best thing for you is swimming. The water will support your leg, so there's little chance of re-injuring your knee. Plus, the friction of the water acts as resistance when swimming, thereby toning your muscles at the same time as getting you fit.
