Baldness and lifestyle?!

Question: Baldness and lifestyle!?
I was looking at the faculty handbook at my college -- all the professors had full heads of hair!. Yes, most of the men seemed to care less about their hairstyles, but they did have manes!.

However, if I go into a local blue-collar bar, half the guys my age or older will be bald!.

Does lifestyle play a role in keeping one's hair!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Actually, it's a stereotype that those "Class A" citizens, namely doctors, accountants, lawyers, professors etc!. would typically have more hair!. Now I'm not saying that these guys aren't 'Class A', but it's a little thing -- you did say 'blue-collar'!.

Typically, these higher rankers experience less stress (yeah, right >!.<) and so they're less prone to losing their hair!. Or perhaps it's just genetics!. Who knows!?

Although as a generalisation, I've made my point!. ^_^Www@Answer-Health@Com

Baldness is primarily caused by genetics!. "Common baldness" usually means male-pattern baldness, or permanent-pattern baldness!. Male-pattern baldness is the most common cause of hair loss in men!. Men who have this type of hair loss usually have inherited the trait!. Men who start losing their hair at an early age tend to develop more extensive baldness!. In male-pattern baldness, hair loss typically results in a receding hair line and baldness on the top of the head!.
Some other things that could cause excessive hair loss is an illness or major surgery (but this hair loss is temporary), hormonal problems, thyroid gland being overactive or under active (usually can be helped by treatment for thyroid disease), hormones out of balance (correcting the hormone imbalance may stop the hair loss), some medicines (this type of hair loss improves when the person stops taking the medicine), an underlying disease, such as lupus or diabetes!.
This is an interesting question!. Although I don't think baldness is caused by lifestyle, I wonder why the discrepancy in the number of bald blue-collar workers and college professors!. All I can think is, maybe the men who are called by the institution of higher learning and being professors, inherited better genes for keeping their hair!. My husband has a full head of hair!. He majored in business in college and was a top executive with a major auto company!. Now he is a part-time security guard, which would be considered "blue collar" - yet he still has not come down with baldness!. lol! Hopefully, his good genes will help him keep his hair!. I would miss running my fingers through it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Actually it's genetics 99% of the time!.

There is enough evidence out there - even my own family - where they guy has to look at his mom's side of the family == especially her dad!.

I went bald at 22, which was no big deal!. I found out my g'father did too - after I went bald!.

When people joke at my bald head, I just come back: God made few perfect heads!. The rest He covered his mistakes with hair!.!.!. This usually quiets the jokes quickly!.!.!. *winks*

My son now 23 has a full head of hair, as did and does his mom's dad!.

Life style can have a play in this, stress - anxiety and such!. But usually those create GRAY hairs - not baldness!. If they are exposed to certain air-born chemicals, this too might play a role!. But again - if the genetics are there to begin with!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I saw all the professors at your college and some of them are out right scary looking, hair or no hair! How do you happen to know the ages of these bald men anyway!? I had a nurse tell me today to not be nervous, that she had the same surgery that I was about to have and that she is much older than I!. Turns out, I actually am 10 years older than she thought I was!. You never can tell a person's age by their hair line!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are a number of factors for baldness, I am sure lifestyle isn't one of them!.

Some causes: illness, age, genetics, hormones and medications you might take!. There may be more but these I know about!.

A shaved head looks rather sexy on some men!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I thought too much testosterone caused the hair follicles to die!. And that is quite confusing because men who are bald still have lots of hair on their body!. Go figure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

idk, but dont follow what others do, just do what you want and just experiment with different hair styles and see what you like better!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was always told that you get the bald gene from your mother's father!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm starting but it really doesn't bother meWww@Answer-Health@Com
