Is not being able to grow a beard a sign of low testosterone?!

Question: I'm 19 years old and still not able to grow a beard. Just some ridiculous moustache...and I'm even a quite hairy guy...

I'm 52 years old, I've fathered 2 children and I think my wife would say I've got enough testosterone. I've never been able to grow a beard - only a crappy sparse moustache, just like you. It used to bug me but now I think guys who grow beards have something ugly underneath!

Actually the problem would be low estrogen.

My auntie has a beard. I guess she mo man than you.!

It's more of a genetic thing.

NOT at all, it has all to do with your genetics.

Im 25 and i still havent. chances r i wont until im like 50+ and ive reached menapause

no it's just that you're different, as is everybody. Scarily enough I'm 17 and bearded, I have been shaving since I was 12! I had to go to hospital and get a blood test for it because they thought I might have had some accelerated growth thingy!

Many times its just heredity. If you have hair other places I wouldn't worry about it being hormones.

Not necessarily. You are still young, give it some more time. It is most likely genetics. My ex-wife is half indian, and some of her brothers never grew much facial hair other than a thin mustache later on in life.

Testosterone is a steroid sex hormone that is directly responsible for growth and development of masculine characteristics. Also secondary characteristics like facial hair, thickened vocal cords and pronounced musculature.
Men's normal lab values are 300-1200ng/dL or 10.4-41.6nmol/L.
Decreased levels may mean- hypogonadism(pituitary failure), Klinefelter's syndrome, hypopituitarism, orchidectomy(surgical excision of testes), hepatic cirrhosis, delayed puberty.
Basically tell you MD your concerns and ask for a simple blood test, that will determine your lab values.
