Answers: What are the pros/cons of circumcision??? Is it considered mutilation and is it really painful for a baby?

Pros: No smegma.

Cons: Mutilation, destruction of the glans and even death. Emotional and physical scarring.

Is circumcision cleaner? It can be, but let's be honest: Any part of the body can be dirty if you don't clean it. If you don't brush your teeth, you get bad breath and possibly cavities. Is that a reason to pull their teeth, too, because you're afraid they won't brush when they're older? No. You TEACH them how to clean and take care of their body. During circumcision, the doctor RIPS the foreskin from the glans (because it is FUSED to the head after birth and slowly separates over time). During infancy, wash the outside of the foreskin and that's all that is required. As the kid ages, teach them to retract it themself to clean. It can take 18 years before it fully retracts.

Does it reduce against STD's? This has never been scientifically proven and is just another reason to mutilate his healthy body. Besides, circumcised guys can catch infections, too, and people should be using condoms regardless.

Will he get teased in the locker room at school? Twenty years ago, probably, but now the split is like 60/40 (probably closer). In fact 80% of the world's male population is intact and they're living healthy normal lives. Don't you think that if everybody suffered problems with their foreskins, the number would be closer to zero? Don't you think mother nature put it there for a reason? Women get smegma around their gentials, too. Should we cut off THEIR foreskin, the clitoral hood because it's cleaner?

The only country that routinely circumcises infant boys without religious reasons is the USA, the land of the free. How free is that?

Number one it's cleaner, there fore much healthier It will be a little painful. You will have to take care of it ...I have two boys. Now they thank me for doing it when they were babies.

Why dont u let the kid decide wen it's older?
Wud u pierce ur kids ears without permission?! (i hope NOT!)

From a girls point of view, circumcision is a bad thing.

Easier to clean and stay clean, therefore much cleaner and therefore less chance of STD's when they start having sexual contact...

Painful for a baby... probably but big deal they wont cry forever or remember it when there older.

If your not circumsized you can have alot more sexaul pleasure as the foreskin moving up and down will provide extra stimulation to the head. Though you being a mom i doubt you really care about that?... but i cant really say. im not a mom... or a women in the first place.

Whether it's considered 'mutilation' is a matter of opinion; but it is most certainly painful, at any age. And in infants, they don't use anesthesia.

It's not something I'd inflict on my kids, if I had any.

mutilation leave it alone

If I have a child, I would most definitely not get them circumcised. I would want them to get older, and have them make the decision of if they want to get circumcised or not. It is cleaner and healthier, but if you know how to properly clean your foreskin, then there should be no problems with it. Also, I can imagine it is very painful. I thank my parents for not getting me circumcised.

Is it painful? What do you think? If someone came up to you and sliced off the most sensitive skin on you do you think that would hurt? The baby won't remember it but it has to hurt like a mutha! Why don't you just leave it alone and if he wants to be cut later he can have it done then.

There are lots of pros and cons but are they real this is what I have herd a uncut unit will spread STD's Answer: if you practice risky sex your gona get burned. A Circumsized dude can get HPV or HIV just a easy as a Uncut dude. it gets infections and stinks Answer: When the kid is a lttle dude you teach him to wash his hair body and pull back on the skin and wash it also. no more mantenace than washing the rest of your body. He wil be taunted and ridiculed. Answer you little dude needs to be confident with his body and there are fewer circs happening now a days so he may be in the norm If he does get comments he can come back with "why are you checking out my junk dude! do you have a problem?" a confidnent dude does better in life.
I was fortunate to be left uncut and have not had any problems with it I practice safe sex and if a chick freaks that i am uncut then she gets kicked to the curb because i do not want to go out with a shallow girl that is only going out with my unit and not me for me. I have seen little dude circumsizons they are strapped down to a form and scissors or a scalple is put to thier units and the skin is cut off. without anistesha. the response is oh it only hurts a little and they do not remember it. Seeing the screamin kid wasnt a nice thing to happen to a little dude.

curtdude

Be natural, not get cut. Why chop off random skin from your body to be clean when you can do that every morning in the shower by pulling the skin back?

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) says the benefits of circumcision are not significant enough to recommend circumcision as a routine procedure and that circumcision is not medically necessary.

Normally insurance does not cover the cost of circumcision, as it is not medically necessary. So you would have to pay for it.

Bleeding and infection in the circumcised area are the most common problems. Sometimes the skin of the newly exposed glans becomes irritated by the pressure of diapers and ammonia in the urine.

Is it mutilation? That's the most debatable part of your question, but I say yes. There are organizations now working in third world countries to eradicate female genital removal of the clitoris which causes desensitizing, although there are differences, circumcision also causes desensitization. Circumcision is the removal of skin that will become a very sensitive part of his male sex organs.

Anytime that you cut and remove a part of your body does it hurt? Your son's body is the same.

If he wants a circumcision later in his life he can choose to do it. If he wants his natural foreskin but you've had it cut off, there's nothing he can do about it.

It is much more painful the older you get.

There are very few proved reasons to circumcize.
I am not circumcized and I have never had any problems or hygiene issues.
Over 85% of the world's men are not circumcized. So having a foreskin can't be all bad!

I was circumcised at 18 and it is far superior to being uncircumcised! It is much cleaner (uncut guys can was 4x a day and still have a smell), proven time and time again to be healthier for both partners. I can aslo assure you sexually speaking being circumcised rocks! The antis try and spread their BS about lose of sensativity...what a croc! I had no hesitation to circumcise my sons (1&3) when the time came as I knew there is no downside, only an upside to being circumcised!!!!!
