this is what happens when your muscles get sore

when you work out to make improvements, you are constantly putting you muscles under stress to improve. Improvement will naturally occur overtime to compensate for the extreme workload.

So after you work out and the next day it feels like you wanna kill yourself, its normal. There is an amino acid build-up in your muscles to try to repair them so they can be back up and running as soon as possible.

That is why it is recommended to stretch after ANY workout, to try and remove as much of the build-up as you can, to increase strength and recovery rate.

No, they're trying to heal . If you "pull/tear" a muscle it goes into a spasm more or less to protect itself from further injury and you feel pain. Muscle are made of fibers. The fibers can be pulled apart/torn. The pain lets you know you've overdone it a bit and the muscles need time to heal .
