Masturbation is completely natural, even seen in many animal species (even the common household pet hamster has the innate ability to masturbate). While he is probably too young to be creating semen or to ejaculate (unless he's an early bloomer), he can still achieve orgasm through stimulation.

His exploration of his body is important so he can later understand sexual functions. If he knows you walked in on him, you may want to privately and calmly address the situation to him by simply telling him that you know what he was doing and that it is okay and normal for him to do it as long as he is doing it privately.

Tell him that if he has any questions he can go to you or your parent(s) and then, if he does, try to find factual information rather than anecdotal folk lore to answer his queries. Chances are he'll feel a little embarrassed and will be more than happy to just drop the subject altogether, but for him to develop sexually in a healthy way it's important that he not be ashamed of himself or his body. Perhaps apologize for intruding on his privacy, so he knows he did nothing wrong.

    Its pretty normal for boys to pleasure them selfs at that age most likely he heard the other boys at school are doing so he tried it and decided that he like the pleasure that he gets from doing it

    I started masturbating when i heard about it at school. I have to admit, it is quite like a drug: once you have done it once, you love the feeling you get from it, then cant stop.
