why do men have it done?

in simple terms, they cut the tube that allows sperm cells to join semen. The body still produces sperm, but it doesn't go anywhere and is absorbed by the body. The man can still ejaculate when he has sex, but it will be fluid only with no sperm in it.

Men have it done because it's an effective way to prevent having more children.

This website explains all.

men have it done who really don't want any more children...or don't want any at all. it is a safer, easier and less expensive procedure than female sterilization.

Why do you want to know all this? Bio class? OR are you thinking of hurting someone?

they cut off the vas deferens, a passage for the sperm cells.

the tubes connecting the testes to the prostate gland are severed. Hence, the sperm can't mix with the seminal fluid. The male still produces sperm, but they're just absorbed into his body. Yes, the guy still shoots during sex; but there's no sperm in it. Getting a vasectomy is a way less invasive procedure than a woman getting a tubal.

There are more urban legends about vasectomies than UFOs. That is why you don't listen to anyone that never had one. No they don
