Will I be short and small forever?!

Question: I am 18, currently 5'7" or so and weigh 125 lbs. My dad is 6'1" and my mom is 5'0." Has my mom's short height doomed me?

I know that 5'7" isn't bad, but it's also a bit small for a full grown man. I am slender, but maintain a muscular physique. I don't get bothered by my height, buy when I consider not being able to buy men's clothes, I get disgruntled. My face also looks very young, and I get questioned whether I am 18 quite frequently.

I am in college now, and I feel like my mind is maturing, but my body is falling behind. I know that looking young when you are 40 or older will be a blessing, but I want to know if I still have potential to grow.

I looked on web MD and it said I'm done growing.

Would taking protein supplements and such things be a good idea to appear bigger? I don't like those things, but if I was recommended safe ones, would it be worth a shot?

It is very likely you are done growing, but there is always a chance that you will grow a bit more-maybe another inch. If you are that young looking, I think the chances of you growing more are good. I did not stop growing until I was 24. You will 'fill out' a bit, which will make you look a little older, and your face will get broader and older looking. Give it all time.

My father is 5'7" and he's very good looking, and he got my mother, who is beautiful. Don't worry about your height. You're fine. And don't take supplements that could mess up what isn't broken.

firstly, 5'7'' really isn't bad and yes, you are for the most part done with growing though i believe this does depend partly on when you began puberty. some say people continue growing into their 20s but i'm uncertain about the veracity of this claim.

protein supplements will probably help you grow muscle more than anything and that is of course, if you do work outs to complement them.

go pound sheetrock for a couple of years. besides building muscle tone, you eat like food is going out of style, then burn it off while wearing sheetrock neckties climbing up and down on ladders, trestles, and lifting sheets- mostly 12 footers (16s in texas), if you don't grow by then, it ain't gonna happen, except maybe waistline. ever look at a russian weight lifter, you know, the joes that can lift 1/2 ton. they have big beer guts and panzas. its not that they are out of shape, its just that their muscles to counteract the lifting of a lot or weight develop there, and they can handle a tough job like rock hanging, while the pretty boys in Atlas ads, don't usually last more than a day hanging a house with all the rakes.

5'7'' is not short or small. You should focus on your other attributes to let you accentuate what you have. At 18, your epiphyseal plates have pretty much closed so no amount of hormones or supplements will do any good. Try building a muscular physique by working out, eat healthy food and have a positive outlook in life. Remember being 5'7' is not a choice but being miserable is.

ur short, deal with it
