Why is death such a big deal?!

Question:

Why is death such a big deal?

Some of you may have read my previous question about my wish to kill myself, and have commented that only someone who is depressed and hates himself would do that. Why is that?

Yes, I'm sure depressed people want to kill themselves too, but why do you have to be depressed to want to die? I just consider it a great adventure and am very curious to see what happens when you die. (I mean, it's not like I can ask anyone who's done it before)

So my question is, why do people consider death such a big deal when in reality it is simply an action?

Answers:

Death will come for us all in its own time. I could never kill myself simply because I know what it would do to the people that I love. It would break their hearts, and they would probably blame themselves forever.

All of us are curious about death, but not that curious! If you are having thoughts like these, you really should talk to someone. If you feel like you just don't have anything to live for, look around you. I'm sure you could find something productive to do with your time to help others and yourself. Good luck to you.
