I hear unfamiliar voices before I drift off to sleep. Does anyone else?!
Question:
I hear unfamiliar voices before I drift off to sleep. Does anyone else?
Prior to falling asleep I hear what I like to call 'snippets' of what feels like a conversation. It's a bit like tuning into a radio and tuning out again. The content is random and I often find it difficult to relate to. Last night I questioned myself over whether I could differentiate between someone speaking to me in person and these voices in my mind, and sensationally it 'feels' different from hearing someone speak out loud to me -so yes I think that I could.
Do other people also experience this? I'd imagine that they do. It is the brain 'reorganizing' material?
Answers:
Its really weird i used to get it alot when i was younger, but the voices would be talking to me from far away and get closer really fast. when i tried to focus on the voice it would be kind of muffled, it really used to freak me out. I'm not sure what made it stop though maybe because i was just getting older i grew out of it. try and get yourself so tired before you go to sleep so when your head hits the pillow you just drift off straight away. i do understand what you mean though. it can freak you out a little. xx
