I'm in great depression,no job, feeling very thin and feeling ashamed of not gett!

Question:

I'm in great depression,no job, feeling very thin and feeling ashamed of not getting job?

Answers:

When I became very ill with depression I lost my job. No one understood what I was going through (I didn't understand it myself). I remember sitting at home crying and feeling worthless. I remember saying over and over "what am I going to do". I remember thinking that my life was over. I had no ability to look for a job because the depression had practically paralyzed me. My story about my downward spiral can be found on Yahoo search under "The Last Temptation of George Petrie". If you have a chance read it and see how bad things got for me because I refused to take medication. Finally, after being hospitalized, I decided to give the medication a try. Within two weeks I felt stronger and was able to fight my case all the way to the Florida Supreme Court and I won. I also found a job and ended up more successful than I ever thought possible. I wish I had more understanding of depression and that it is not a sign of weakness. It is a result of brain chemistry, much the same as any physical illness is the result of organic chemistry. Please don't give up on yourself. Get some help, contact your local mental health society if you don't have a personal physician. My best wishes to you......
