Question:

During most of my teen years, when I was supposed to be enjoying my youth, I was terrorized by a psychotic?

brother, who told me that I was no good, who controlled my life and my mind into being his slave. Now, i'm 55, and I'm starting to think that the pain will never go away, despite seeing a couselor, despite taking medication, the pain is still here, the scars are still here. No, I was not sexually abused, but mentally he made me feel like a piece of turd, and robbed me of my childhood. As I say, the pain still lingers to this day, despite the best treatment money can Buy. Can you recommend anything that can help me?

I hope this info is a start to something that could help you. Know too that you are not alone with what has happened to you. I don't understand how a brother can do this, sick, I guess. Mine is an alcoholic who is abusive to me and I avoid him. Realize, the issue is theirs, which doesn't change what they have done, but you don't have to accept it now. Get some help and do what you can to improve your self esteem. Feel better and know that there is help. Take care.
