I have tourette's.
There are some tics that feel like a sensation of discomfort that you need to let out, like my neck cracking. It feels really uncomfortable and stiff if I don't do the tic. But a lot of my tics just kind of pop out, like i don't know they're coming and I have almost no control over them and I can't stop it unless I focus on not doing it.
I have this one tic where it's like I'm frowning over and over again and sometimes i don't realise I'm doing it. Same with quite a lot of my facial tics, except for ones like hard blinking and eye rolling, because obviously I can see that happening.
Sometimes I can sort of half tic, like instead of fully jerking my head to the side I might be able to just turn it slightly, but holding in tics is really tiring and they come out much worse later.
I get embarrassed about it sometimes, like when I let out a vocal tic in public, but I don't see it as a terrible thing. I like how I've met people through having tourette's and how I can help out other people with the disorder.
Sometimes people give me funny looks, or think it's funny, but I don't care much.

I did a project on tourettes too in college. A tick basically feels like a itch you cant scratch, so you end up just spazing out ridicules stuff.
