Answers:

Unfortunately propranolol can cause both bronchospasm, (chest tightness) and lethargy. Contact your prescriber who will probably advise you to stop them.

GP for more years than I care to remember

I take propranol as and when required when i feel anxious. The tightness in your chest is anxiety, you need to do breathing excercises, take deep breaths, breath in count to 3 hold in count to 3 release slowly count to 3 and then do it again. As for you feeling depressed and lifeless, this will pass, but try i know it is difficult to excercise, walk, or jog, any form of excercise it is hard but you will start to feel better. The more you sit and worry about feeling down and poorly the worse you will get. Try and keep busy to keep your mind off it. I have been there, it is hard to cope with but it dose get easier. Hope you start feeling better soon.

Lots of sites on anxiety, i am speaking from experience.
