Question: What will the psychiatrist do?

I previously went to a psychiatrist for the first time, to see if i was mentally ill. She asked me alot of question and i was truthful throughout the whole thing, except the drug part. I didnt want to tell her because i was afraid she was going to tell my parents i smoked. Next time i go should i tell her i smoked canibis? will she tell my parents? what will she do?

Going to a therapist is the first serious , confident step anyone with a mental illness can take . But it won't be effective unless you trust your doctor and speak truthfully and openly to him/her.
Bottom line , you should tell her every single detail to be able to help you into this .
It is well known for psychiatrists that whatever said between them and their patients , stay there .
I've been dealing with depression and anxiety for almost thirteen years , and I can tell you that smoking canibis will only add to your problems and will make you even worse .
Be brave and honest to yourself and start dealing with your illness in a more mature way .
