Is it weird to have conflicting interests in regards to cutting myself?!

Question: Is it weird to have conflicting interests in regards to cutting myself?
i know its a bad habit and i want to quit doing it, but at the same time it feels like it helps (with all that i cant control it gives me something that i can control - the pain, which i have grown to like, and i could bask in it for days at a time) and idk if i am ready to stop for good, not to mention i dont feel as if anybody cares whether i do it or not, though i am seeking help for my issues.

Answers:

Get in touch with your doctor and ask for a referral to a therapist with whom you will be able to obtain treatment with.

I have heard other people who cut themselves that it help relieve anything (as you said) that you are able to control the pain. This, although, does not eliminate the issue that is causing you to cut yourself in the first place.

You need to seek help from a professional who has been trained in the mental health field of medicine.

It is very dangerous for you to cut yourself. It is possible to cut a vein or cause an infection to occur.

Please obtain help as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the more difficult it is going to be to treat and the longer it will take to treat.

You should say that you get pleasure from the pain, or that you enjoy this feeling; but be very clear what you mean.

If there is anyone that refuses to take notice of your condition, this must be taken up too.

Take this up with those that you seek help from.

I cut too. In my opinion it's perfectly normal. People complain and say well your cutting and your hurting yourself. I know someone who is the reason I cut. They are terrible to me and when they asked about it My reply was "Would you rather me cut you?"
