Do you feel that your mental illness has made you stronger?!

Question: Do you feel that your mental illness has made you stronger?
For those of you who live with mental illness(es), do you believe that anything positive came out your illness, or can you only see negatives?

Answers:

I have become the sum-total of my troublesome experiences...for the positive.
I have more than overcome my weaknesses, I have conquered.
Now people point me out, not for being abnormal, but for my quiet, caring strength.
They come up to me and tell me how I am now an encourager of those who are currently hurting.
They refer to me as the strong one.
...after all those years of being weak and depressed and wandering.

I Thank God for who he has made me to be. It was something more than just me to bring about that significant of a change for the positive.

Really, no. Except that I'm a pretty good judge of the character of others, and can see through the phoniness of others in about the wink of an eye. Might be related to my illness or not, but I don't really know.

With bipolar and anxiety issues there are definitely a lot of negatives, but I do get to see the world in ways other people can't. I'm fairly artistic and I think that can be credited to my messed up mind.

yes, it has made me a much stonger person within myself (y)

and epilepsy isnt a mental illness you douche!

my eating disorder hasn't yet made me a stronger person, but i know it will someday

I have epilepsy, and no.
