how can I make my life happier?!

Question: How can I make my life happier?
I'm 17 I'm popular. I go to parties (I don't drink or smoke) , and I have plenty of friends. I have a job. I work hard I buy things that I want. I have a pretty good family. I've never been in love, and I don't believe it exists. I've never even been in a real relationship. Nothing seems to really matter to me. I'm a little socially inept but I've been getting better. I feel kind of like my life is stuck in a rut and I seem to lack motivation or ideas how to change. I keep doing the same old routines. I know I'm young and my perspectives will change as I mature but what. Can somebody give me some advice?

Answers:

My suggestion would be to step out and do something really different. If you play football enrol in dancing classes. If you dance try tennis or swimming. Go to art classes or learn a language. Go to Judo. Pick an activity which is well attended and just go. You will meet some new people and you will broaden your interests, thus becoming more interesting. If you have time try a couple of new things, a physical activity and a mental one such as language class.

Get a girlfriend. Let me break it down for you.

Girlfriend = Sex
Sex = Teen Love
Teen Love = Fun
Fun = Happier Life

Good luck mate!

I felt a lot like you too a couple of years ago.
Find ways to get involved with things you care about and you'll start to feel like things matter and are exciting again. Volunteering is actually a really great place to start. But don't think you necessarily have to go to a soup kitchen or nursing home, unless you want to. If you like making films, or painting, or writing, whatever it is, start doing it! Maybe you've always wanted to join the school paper or something... Get involved with things that make you happy and feel proud. It will give you more confidence and a better outlook on life because when you feel fulfilled, almost nothing can get you down. And maybe you might even find someone with similar interests while you're at it to have a "real" relationship with. But don't worry so much about the relationship.. that will come. Focus on yourself first.
