What is the best way to tell your therapist that you really give up on living?!

Question: What is the best way to tell your therapist that you really give up on living?
I have been dealing with depression for a couple of years; quite frankly I am tired of dealing with it. I have been on and off medications..I can't even stand it anymore. When I was diagnosed, I was in a very dark place. The only thing that kept me going was the fact that I was beginning graduate school in an attempt to do better. Now, I am a month away from completion and I still do not feel any better off than I did then. I really feel like giving up on life; I know I need the help, I just don't know how to tell her.

Answers:

First off, might I suggest a hobby? Something like golf, ice skating, they are all good things to look forward to and what to improve in.... remember, all emotion is a state of mind and you can choose how you want to feel if you try hard enough :) Keep your head up, I know you'll see the fun side of life soon!

I think printing out this page and showing the very words you typed might be a good way to show your therapist. I don't think you could word it better in speech.

I wish you the best of luck!

LIVE LAUGH LOVE!

Come on sweetheart. If you'd really given up living you wouldn't bother going to the therapist to tell her in the first place.

There's a part of you that hasn't given up and you need to appeal to that part of you and talk it over with her about what's lead you to feel this low. You need to do whatever you can to get yourself through the last month of grad school because you cannot come this far and give up now.

Take good care of yourself.

Please don't give up on life, there's too much to live for.(:
I'm not a therapist but I am a regular girl that wants to help.
Maybe you should talk to me about it. I really want to help you,
even if we're complete strangers, I care about you .
And I think there is the best way on saying that.

Just be honest and work up the courage to blurt it out. Don't give up. Take it from a complete stranger who totally understands...it actually does get better sometimes its just hard to recognize that it is getting better.

why dont u just come out and say it there are ppl out there dealing with the same thing maybe she could help u find a support group or sponsor....

jst go n' tell her she'll understand u n' she could help u
hope u get better soon..
