Everyone has different experiences with this sort of thing. It depends on lots of things. If you're rapid cycling, if you're more manic than depressed or vice versa. Speak to the correct person about this. Not Y!A as we don't know your full background.
I'm not a Dr. but I have a degree in Healthcare. Staying busy with positive things is really good. Like sports, bowling, fishing, with friends and around people who are positive. Just being in the sunshine helps also. Do take your medicines. Don't quit. When you thoughts tend to waiver anywhere but positive get refocused. Good Luck...
The advice from all previous responders is sound. Also regulate your sleep and when you're not feeling well, try to go easy on yourself and to stay busy.
keep stable with your medication. Avoid alcohol. Stay on a stable relationship. Do sports.
Take your meds as prescribed and join a support group like the one at www.dailystrength.org.
Don't do drugs or drink...you will end up in jail..
