I will also refer you to think about the reasons you are overeating to begin with, what happened in your life that has been so stressful that you became addicted to food? This isn't a recent thing, it's a lifelong problem and it can be traced back to your life as a kid. Were you not nurtured enough, or inappropriately nurtured? Many times when we don't feel nurtured, we go to extremes to get nurtured. One of the ways to nurture someone, or ourselves, is to feed them. Kids get get desserts as rewards, we buy boxes of chocolate to express love, it's very ingrained in us as a culture. I hope you will see a therapist who recognizes your eating disorder as an addiction, and a maladaptive coping behavior.
Best of luck to you.
