Can't sleep until the sun is up...?!

Question: Can't sleep until the sun is up...?
I can't sleep until the sun is up. Which is usually about 5:30AM. I can't really explain why the night time bothers me. Just the way moonlight shines through the blinds and makes everything blue just freaks me out. A few nights ago I tried to sleep before the sun was up, and I ended up having a panic attack. When there is no panic attack, it's just constant waking up every few minutes until the sun comes up. I really don't know why this is happening, and it bothers me. For the past three years, my sleeping schedule has been 5:00AM to 12PM. The only time I CAN sleep at night normally is if I'm in my dad's room.

Sometimes the sun does come up, and even then I just feel uncomfortable because it's too bright or too hot. But I just CAN'T bring myself to sleep at night. It's not a problem of not feeling sleepy either, because I'm always EXHAUSTED by that point.

Does anyone know how can this be helped? :c I really just want to sleep normally.

Answers:

Are you a vampire? I'm sorry. I shouldn't make jokes. The truth is, I know EXACTLY what you mean. I can't sleep during the night, either. I go to bed around seven AM on weekends, and on week-days, five-thirty. Which means I get an hour of sleep. It sucks. I'm probably not much help because I haven't found a way to stop either. But tell me something- do you find it easier to sleep during thunderstorms? Can you fool your body into thinking that the sun just isn't up because of a storm? If this is that serious, you may need to move somewhere stormy or at least vacation there for a while. Or somewhere very sunny. You might want to see a therapist, too, because it seems like you get anxiety attacks. What about artificial light during the night, in a room with no windows? I hope things get better for you!

Personal experience

3 years of sleeping during the day isnt going to be reversed very easily. the panic attack is probably just alot of pent up energy that you arent getting rid of for some reason. then again, it could be that you're just afraid of the night. nothing wrong with that. if you really think its the blue from the moon, try putting up 2 or 3 layers of thick black curtains. they'll block out all the light. but like i said, 3 years of sleep habits are going to take a few weeks to break. good luck
