Marijuana - Schizophrenia?!

Question: Marijuana - Schizophrenia!?
Over the past 2 years I have been smoking marijuana, at some points I have used the drug heavily, and about the last 30 times i've smoked marijuana I've been falling into the worst state of mental anguish!. I've had visions of the worst kind, and my mind in a conspiracy mode!. Everything I see and everything I hear is evil & conspiring against me!. I suddenly have the impression that everyone around me is evil and bad and that the whole world is evil and rampantly corrupt!. Apart from these thoughts, when i'm high, my attention/concentration levels are extremely low, like someone with a severe case of ADD!. Anyway, this is really scaring me & I am just wondering if this is a warning sign for schizophrenia or pyschosis!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am experiencing something very similar except the fact that people are all against me!. As a two year smoker you are very used to the drug, and you are tired of all the bullshit answers from people who think you are not experienced with marijuana!.(you have smoked for two years, you know what high is supposed to feel like, and you know what paranoia is, which is exactly not what you are experiencing!.) At times you think it would be nice to quit, but it is too great of a high, and you wish you could go back to the way it made you feel in the past!. Myself I am pondering whether to quit and return to using marijuana after a several month break, in hoping it goes away!. I really dont think it will ever go away!. Unfortunately people like you and I will most likely have to discontinue using this great drug!. I never really imagined smoking marijuana would come to this!. As for now you have to options quit and the symptoms will not return, or continue to fight it hoping one day it will return to the way it was!. You're not alone!. Read some of the questions ive posted!. At times you may even wonder if things happening around you are real, or that you are stuck on a path that you were meant to be from the time you were born!. It really sucks!. I'd like to hear more from youWww@Answer-Health@Com

Doing drugs even though you have a bad reaction to them is a sign of dependence!. Which is often times considered a kind of psychosis!.

I would doubt that schizophrenia is what you have!. At least that is not what I would jump to simply because true schizophrenia is so rare!. But if you are prone to paranoia or anxiety marijuana can exacerbate these mood problems and make them worse and even make you have psychotic episodes!. Marijuana contains THC and other chemicals that have hallucinogenic qualities!. If you are experiencing hallucinations when you are not smoking weed, then yes you are suffering from some serious illness you need to get checked out immediately!. If you only experience hallucinations when on the drugs then chances are (like 90% likely) that its just how your body reacts to the weed!.

At any rate if the mary jane is making you feel bad, in any way, I would think that would be a clear sign to you that its not working out and that you should just leave the stuff alone!. If you try and find that you can't help it or go through serious cravings and with drawl, thats when you go yourself involved NA, get a sponcer go to meetings or get into some kind of treatment therapy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like you have paranoia !.!.!. whether this is severe enough to earn the label of schizophrenia only a doctor can decide!. Talk to your doctor about your feelings!. The fact that you are aware that you may have a problem suggests that it is not psychosis (at least not severe) but rather a drug reaction!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would definitely see a Doctor, your symptoms do point to schizophrenia!. Especially thinking everything you see and hear is evil or conspiring against you!. I think it's time to get some help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
