I'm coming off Effexor (anti-depressant) and feel very depressed--is this no!
Question: I'm coming off Effexor (anti-depressant) and feel very depressed--is this normal!?
My psychiatrist put me on Abilify instead, because of my bipolar problems and this has helped my bipolar, but my depression now is out of whack!. So, she put me on Wellbutrin!. I still take one Effexor tablet a day!. I also take an anti-anxiety drug, Buspar & one called Lamictal!. I've noticed that I'm depressed lately, in general, and can't tell if finally taking a lower dose of Effexor is the cause of it (I lowered the dosage about eight weeks ago)!. I started Wellbutrin on Tuesday & I'm hoping this helps me!. I started Abilify about eight weeks ago!. Yes, I have bipolar, anxiety & depression!. Before, my bipolar & anxiety symptoms were worse & now my depression symptoms are!. My depression symptoms are that I feel I have nothing to look forward to and what I previously enjoyed, I no longer enjoy!. I'm not suicidal, though!. I last saw my psychiatrist last week!. Thanks!. I was recently taken off of Effexor as well, and it was replaced with Cymbalta!. I'm also on BuSpar, and I have been on Lamictal as well!.
However I didn't feel depressed at all when I was coming off of the Effexor!. If it seems real bad and you just can't cope, you should definitely contact your psychiatrist and let him/her know, this could be a bad side effect!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
