Don't jump to a new medication just yet!. Ask yourself these questions: Did your diet change!?; Was there a big change in your life!?; Medical issues!?; etc!.
I'm on lexapro and have been for about a year and a half!. I slipped up and didn't eat much for a few days!. It effected me and made it seem like the lexapro wasn't working!.

I take Wellbutrin SR (150 mg) in the morning, and Lexapro (10 mg) in the evening, for depression and anxiety!. I've been taking that for over a year and a half, and it's working very well for me!.
The Wellbutrin SR seems to help me to be more alert and active - and wanting to do things - while the Lexapro makes me more mellow, and it helps me sleep better, too!.
It does take the Lexapro several weeks to reach its full effectiveness, just a couple weeks isn't long enough for it to work (yet)!. I'd mention that to your doctor - but still give it a few more weeks!. It should work!.
You didn't say when you're taking it, when I first started taking the Lexapro they had me take it in the morning - and I was very drowsy and sleepy during the day!. I switched to taking it at night - and that made a huge improvement!.
Best of Luck to you :-)

That was how it affected me!. I told my doctor and she doubled the dose to 20mg!.
I don't know if 20mg would have worked because after only 6 days I saw a psychiatrist who sent me to a psych ward and redoubled it to 40mg!. He should lose his license because he is an idiot!.
That high dose sent me to the ER and when I found another psychiatrist she dropped the dose to 30mg!.
You need to just wait it out!. It sucks having to live like that for another 2 weeks!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
