Is Cipramil the same as Citalopram?!

Question: Is Cipramil the same as Citalopram!?
I have been on Citalopram for years but this time the chemist gave me cipramil instead of citalopram but still at 20mg!. Is this exactly the same drug!? I feel a bit weird taking it but is this just psychological because I think it's different!?

Thanks for any advice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi, Dont be worried!. Cipramil IS Citalopram!. Drugs normally have at least 2 names- a generic one, and also a name given by the makers of the drugs!. For example, I take Prozac which has the generic name of Fluoxetine!. I dont always pick up my prescription from the same chemist and the name stated on the box varies depending on where I collect it from!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi, Cipramil is the brand name for citalopram!. In the leaflet you should have been given with the tablets the active ingredient is still citalopram!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
